love was born at Christmas
Nov. 29th, 2009 11:28 pmI've had a great idea! I seem to be having a lot of those lately. Maybe something's wrong with me. Actually I'm going to share both of my good ideas that are livejournal-related in this entry!
1. 25 Days of Seeing Christ
I used to go to youth group at this great little church across town from me, and I'm still friends with lots of the pastors etc. from there because they're really just wonderful, sweet, caring people and I love having them in my life. Anyway, the pastor's wife had this on her facebook status today:
Man people, I love this idea. And I know those of you who know me are already rolling your eyes, thinking, "yeah, right, as if Catey could even follow through with anything that was supposed to happen once per week," and you may be right. But! I fully intend to do my level best to do this! Starting on December 1st and going right up through Christmas Day! These entries will be public so that when I fall behind as many people as possible can guilt me about it.
2. A New Year's Resolution
I know, I know. I hate New Year's Resolutions. They're stupid and no one ever follows through. This one, however, has nothing to do with quitting bad habits (because I don't have any!) or weight lossor, as Dad suggested, being nicer to people. Therefore it is not stupid! It will probably be one that I don't follow through on. But nonetheless, here is the idea!... I want to try to write something every single day next year. Not a big something of course, so short stories and things won't be included, and when I'm working on those the daily things will probably be absurd rambles clever stream-of-consciousness pieces. I'm going to create a new journal for the project and everything, so various family members can follow my progress if they so choose! It could potentially be very very cool! If I do it. Which I might not.
In other news, Thanksgiving break was incredibly lovely and I'm really not excited about being back at school with way too many essays and story revisions staring me in the face. But I got plenty of sleep, for once, so that was lovely, and I spent lots of time with my family and re-watched Waters of Mars which was even more astounding the second time. Plus I sold my old 30gb video ipod so now I'm getting a pretty new green nano! ♥
All this being productive has made me tired. Time to go to sleep without finishing my homework!

I enjoyed doing the "I am thankful for..." thing for Thanksgiving, and was trying to think of one to do for Christmas. Since there is so much talk about taking Christ out of Christmas, I thought I'd try to post at least one way each day that I see Christ in my world. Join in if you want!!!
