farewell, old friend
Aug. 18th, 2010 05:36 pmEven though I was not usually very good at keeping up with this meme, it was crazy fun and I am going to be sad to not have it in my life anymore. :(
Day 29 - Who you think should be the next Doctor
I agree with humansrsuperior in thinking that Hugh Laurie would be a pretty fantastic Doctor, and it might be kind of neat to not have another super young guy, but I also think she's right in saying that he's too big time to over come aboard. I think a lot of good British actors are the same way - like, there's about a dozen of them, so they're all in everything, so they're all too big for Doctor Who. So, inspired by Karen Gillan going from Sister #4 in Fires of Pompeii to Amy Pond, I picked someone I think was awesome as a DW minor character!
( I think he was actually a rumored early favorite to replace David? )
Alternately, in my fantasy world, Richard Hammond. That's right, from Top Gear. I mean LOOK AT HIM.

He can make super weird faces and his hair is usually hilarious and HE IS EVEN WEARING PINSTRIPES. I seriously love him so, so, so much you guys. PLEASE, UNIVERSE. LET TOP GEAR AND DOCTOR WHO MEET. I PROMISE IT WILL BE AWESOME.

Day 30 - Whatever tickles your fancy
Leah wants us to pick up her meme gauntlet, and since she posted the third FE installment today I'm going to do what she wants. So:
Episode of some other show I wish were an episode of Doctor Who
Well. There's this one episode of Scrubs (my favorite, actually) where all of the main characters are being interviewed, I think for some psychiatric thing, and they're all talking to the camera in an Office-esque way (or like Elton, in Love and Monsters, to keep it closer to home). And they're all talking about relationships, and it's sometimes funny and often sad and always extremely poignant and touching, the way they discover things about themselves just by talking it out; it's just such beautiful television. I mean, you'd have to add a lot to it to make it a Doctor Who episode, obviously, but I've always thought that would be really interesting - to have an episode of Doctor Who that was all about introspection and love. I mean that is in Doctor Who, but often in kind of hidden ways, and not usually so brutally honest as that particular episode of Scrubs. It might not work at all, in the context of DW, but I just think it would be a cool experiment.
First day of classes today was awesome - two writing classes and Europen lit! I love you, school. Also had a job interview today! And also I've bought a bicycle because this campus is way bigger than App. She's burgundy and gold and her name is Amelia. Yep.
Extended real life update SOON.
