Today I saw Christ in my hallmate, Ashley, and her boyfriend Tristan. He called her on his way up to visit, just to let her know that he'd been at a gas station and had seen this enormous dog that was a mix between I thiiiink Jack Russell and German Shepherd? He was going to see her in person in about 30 minutes, but he just didn't want to wait to tell her about the pretty dog because animals are Ashley's favorite thing. And she was so excited and enthusiastic about it and then they talked about the kinds of dogs they want to have, and it was just so sweet and innocent and lovely. Just what I needed to see in the middle of exams and car crashes and whatall.

Sorry for the horrible picture.

Today was a horrible day on campus, weather-wise. Miserably cold and the rain was just pouring and it was one of those rains where everything is instantly soaked through. And of course this is my busiest on-campus day of the week, so I was just miserable most of the day. And it stayed cold and cloudy most of the day, but then at about 5:30 Alex and Jessi started freaking out and pushing the blinds away from the window, and the sky was this brilliant, insane shade of orange. It looked like the ipod I got Kyle for his birthday, it was honestly that kind of rich, fluorescent orange that the sky shouldn't be allowed to be all at once. And we just sat there and watched it turn pinkish and then purple and then kind of fade to navy and as soon as it got really dark it clouded over again. It was just such an amazing moment in the middle of such a disgusting day. Nice little reminder that God tends to give a reprieve from the most disgusting days/times/experiences.

Today I saw Christ in my co-worker/manager/friend Lauren. I was freaking out about school and work and life and relationships and she left the store and bought me a Dr. Pepper from Panera Bread and put lemon slices in it (best thing in the world, try it). She handed it to me and squeezed my shoulder and said, "Just remember how awesome your life is, and don't forget that God's the one who's made it that awesome. And you're just 19, so just imagine what else He's got in mind for you." She also encouraged me about school and getting married and a few other things, plus she laughed at all my horrible Twilight digs, so all in all I think God scheduled us to work together tonight so I could relax in His peace with my friend.

Expect (hope?) to see lots of similar posts this week, with exams coming up...
