a plea and a Who s2 thought
May. 17th, 2010 11:57 pmHey ElJay!
Give me recommendations for summer reading!
I'd really like to read a lot this summer and first on my list is finishing The Writer's Tale (stupid exams get in the way of everything that's right and good), but after that I'm fairly directionless. So I'd love to know if any of you have any recommendations! So give me a favorite book, a second favorite book, or a book you saw one time and thought the cover looked cool! Realistic young adult is my favorite right now, but I'll look into pretty much anything, unless it's about vampires or has a title similar to "Taming the Rogue Lover."
Please please please please give me suggestions. I'll love you for it!
Jasa came over this morning to celebrate her birthday a few days late and, because she's literally the coolest friend in the entire universe, the Awesome Birthday Activity she chose was to watch New Earth. :D! I mean, it's where we happened to be in the Epic Introduction of Jasa to the Best Show Ever, so I guess the real awesome is that she chose Who for her birthday activity, and not that it was New Earth. But seriously, it made me so excited to rewatch this series. I'm so in love with it. Her comment was something like, "that was one of my favorite episodes so far. It was so funny and precious!" Which yes, the whole David-and-Billie-acting-possessed-by-Cassandra thing is probably one of my picks for funniest Who things ever. But the point here is that Jasa never ever says things like that about any two people in anything. Period. So that combined with how today I accidentally stumbled on some forum or something full of people who hate RoseWHYYYYYIDON'TUNDERSTAND has had me thinking today about how different the Doctor's and Rose's relationship is than so many others on TV right now, or in any media. There's something so special about them and their love - I don't know, it's so pure and friendly and genuine and consuming - and it's just so beautiful to watch their relationship evolve. I love this ship and I love this era of this show.
